The provincial government offers this grant to reduce the burden of property taxes on owners who occupy eligible residences. The grant amount is dependent on the taxes assessed on a property. The maximum grant is $770 or $1,045 for seniors 65 years of age or over, persons permanently disabled, or those who receive certain war veterans allowances.
Residential property owners who qualify for a home owner grant must apply online or by telephone to the Province of British Columbia. You can learn more about home owner grant qualifications and the application process at: http://gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant or by calling 1-888-355-2700.
